Sawyer’s character was originally intended to be an older, slick, suit-wearing urban con artist from Buffalo, NY. However, when Josh Holloway forgot a line during his audition and later kicked a chair in frustration and swore loudly, the writers liked the representation he brought to the Sawyer character and decided to write Sawyer as more of a southern, dark rider.
However, when Koreans marry, the wife never takes her husband’s last name
Jin and Sun are married and share the last name “Kwon”, which becomes a major plot point in the final season. In fact, in Korea it’s not even allowed to marry someone with the same last name, except in rare cases..
